1. Come to class on time. When late refrain from individually greeting classmates until a more acceptable time.
2. Come to class prepared. When I shut the door, signalling the start of class, you should be in your seat with all of the day’s materials out, including something to write with.
3. Be mindful of when to talk and when to listen. During devotion and instructional time you are to listen attentively without talking or calling out to each other or to the teacher until we begin open discussion or Q & A.
4. Avoid disruptions and stay focused. Be respectful of others and avoid disrupting the class, while staying focused yourself.
-Using electronic devices (ipods, cellphones, computers, portable game players etc.) during unscheduled times. The first time I see them I will tell you to put them away. The second time, I will take the device and hold it until he end of the day. If the
disruption persist, I will keep them until your parent comes to pick it up.
-Leaving your seat without permission. Once I shut the door, you need to be in your seat and stay there until the end of
instructional time. If you need to get up, please raise your hand and ask permission first.
-Eating, drinking, or chewing gum. Besides water, there should be no food, drink, or candy consumed in the classroom
5. Use bathroom privileges responsibly.
6. Turn in homework and major assignments on time. Homework and major assignments must be turned in the date they are due. Homework will not be accepted late and major projects will be marked down 5 points for every day they are late.
7. Be accountable if you are absent. Being present in class everyday is an important part of being a successful student, as well as maintaining accountability with your peers as a “team learner.” Of course, during the school year absences will occur for various reasons. If you do miss class keep the following in mind:
-Too many absences, particularly unexcused absences, will seriously harm your participation grade.
-It is your responsibility to make-up the work that you have missed. This means getting the class notes from me or a classmate, doing the days reading and/or exercises, and turning in assignments and or projects the day you return to class.
